Tynemouth United U9 v Amble Juniors U9

The game started off positive by Tynemouth pushing forward from the first kickoff and quickly winning a corner which was a good cross in by Liam and good effort at goal by Bradley going wide of the post.
Amble were then on the attack which was well defended by Joey Ben and Harry. Goalkick was taken quickly passed up into midfield and driven at goal by Toby who scored the first goal of the season.
Harry puts in a great tackles and gets ball forward.
Amble quickly attack and then have a clear strike at goal scoring their first. Harry provides welcome relief at the back with a great clearance forward up to Bradley who passes the ball into the box from the right which Liam is unlucky to connect with.
Toby then gets the ball to Joey who drives forward with the ball and forces Amble to pass the ball back to their goalkeeper who in error picks it up. After a few attempts by the referee to get the indirect free kick taken its eventually taken by Joey who passes to Liam who after his first attempt of hitting the crossbar gets a second chance to move it passed Ambles defence and shoots and scores.
Second quarter there were great saves by Ethan even with the wind blowing straight at him. Good link up play by Joey and Liam who makes a good cross into the box for Jack who was in a great position but unfortunately the ball moved with the wind and goes out for a goalkick.
Great runs by Tom driving forward from defence and making some grea tackles.
Amble win a free kick and with the wind in their favour score their second.
Charlie quickly gets chances to drive at Amble players and a great ball played by Liam forward to Charlie on Halfway line who drives up the pitch at the goal keeper and is unfortunate that the ball bobbled just before striking it and is saved by the keeper. Some great defending by Tom, Joey and Harry again to deny Amble in front of goal. Great drive forward by Liam and a shot by Jack pushed out for a corner.
Amble were soon back on the attack and push forward to score.
Third quarter some more great drives forward by Charlie with shots saved. Toby has a great run forward from left back getting passed Ambles midfield and switching over to the right and passes to Charlie who's shot is again saved. Ben does some great tracking back to defend and clear ball forward which again is driven forward by Charlie. Bradley and Charlie battle with Amble and win a corner which is taken by charlie and goes out to Toby who strikes and is denied by the crossbar. Another corner soon after sees a strike at goal from Ben. Great defending by Tom and saves from Ethan brings an end to the third quarter.
The last quarter sees a quick goal for Amble and then an effort floated towards the Amble keeper by Liam. Bradley makes some good double saves and is helped by Jack who puts it out.
Great tackles from Harry and Joey who gets a great ball to Liam who has a good strike at goal.
The score line unfortunately doesnt reflect the overall game but everyone played well and with abit more luck we could have seen a better result. Lots to work on especially at keeping possession but great to see players driving forward with the ball as they do at training. All the lads put the effort in and did themselves proud and it was a tight call for Man of the match but goes to Charlie who was very unlucky not to get on the score sheet but kept driving forward and putting Amble under pressure throughout.
