Blues Overcome A Tough Wideopen Side To Stay Top
Good Effort From All
The last meeting saw Tynemouth come back from 0-3 down to draw 3-3, but they could have won it after a dominant 2nd half.
This match would prove to be just as competitive though and Wideopen are a decent side who caused us problems.
After an intense 20 mins, Blues went ahead, as Joel Griffin whipped a left footed corner in and Archie Beales headed home to make it 0-1.
Wideopen levelled the score 5 mins later with a good goal though.
But within minutes, goal machine Beales turned provider with a deft flick header that Ben Harris ran on to and dinked it over the advancing goalkeeper to make it 2-1.
Then just before half time, Ben Harris netted his 2nd with a nice lofted finish from the edge of the box after a goal mouth melee to make the scoreline 1-3.
Second half saw a stalemate game, and then Wideopen were awarded a penalty, but couldn't convert to get themselves back in the game.
This then gave Blues the opportunity to put the game to bed, and the goal machine Beales didn't disappoint as the Wideopen keeper failed to deal with a high ball, Archie Beales was on hand to slot home from close range and put the game to bed.
Kosta was awarded Man of the Match by the opposition.
