WALBOTTLE JNRS 3 TUFC U16 BLUES 7
By Doug Leitch
DESPITE SCORELINE THIS WAS NOT A VINTAGE BLUES PERFORMANCE
Tynemouth travelled to Walbottle with the bare bones of a team following several late cry offs to find that Walbottle had fared even worse being unable to field a full 11
From the kick off Walbottle stunned the visitors as a speculative shot from the half way lined sailed over Toners head into the net. 1-0 to Walbottle after 30 seconds.
Tynemouth fought back and equalised through Joe Howells
first goal of the season only to go behind almost immediately as hesitancy in the defence saw the home striker score comfortably.Ben Carr
equalised halfway though the first period and with Alfie Davies
scoring just before half time sanity seemed to have been restored.
Tynemouth were to have the advantage of the strong wind in the second half and anticipated taking control of the game, however shortly after the kick-off Walbottle were awarded a penalty which they converted with ease. 3-3
Tynemouth needed to up their game now and to their credit they did so with further goals from Alfie Davies
, Ben Carr
(2) and a screamer from Thomas Taylor
seeing them home by a margin of 7-3
Walbottle should be proud of their efforts throughout and Tynemouth need to think about the game. Making their numerical advantage count, making the pitch wider rather than trying to go through the middle all of the time. One for the coaches to work on.
Opposition MOM went to Ben Carr
deservedly so with his 4th hat trick of the season. the Coaches MOM went to Alfie Davies
scoring 2 goals and working so hard throughout.
