LEMINGTON LIONS 5 TUFC BLUES 0
HORRENDOUS SHOWING BY THE BLUES
There is little that can be said about this abject performance. The Bluesarrived at Lemington with high expectations having beaten their opponents fairly comfortably earlier in the season
Leamington were 2 up at half time because of two defensive lapses. Tynemouth rarely threatened the home goal.
Lessons were not learned and they quickly found themselves 4-0 down just after the break, again due to poor defending.
For the next 20 minutes Tynemouth tried hard to get back into the game and created several opportunities that were not taken, partly because of good goal keeping and partly because of poor finishing. In the dying minutes Leamington added a 5th with a great strike from the edge of the box, but this came about because of a weak clearance
A very poor performance on the day when the team did not gel in any way whatsoever.
Standards will need to improve greatly this coming weekend when they face the runaway league leaders WBSC Yellows.
The opposition awarded Fionn Given man of the match and to be fair he was one of the few that came out of the game with any credit. The coaches did not feel able to make any MOM award
