Under 13 Blues secure comfortable victory
By Chris Bowler
After a slow start......
After a slow start to the match, Tynemouth Utd emphatically triumphed in what was to be the last game of this round of league games before the leagues are reshuffled. The win means that the Blues finished joint top of the league with Whitley Bay Porto and Wideopen Warriors and gained promotion to the Premier league in the process.
It was a 9:30 kick-off and the conditions were good though the winter sun was going to make it tricky for those kicking towards it . The opposition were in mid table, which suggested this could be a tougher game than previous matches. We had to make sure that if we were to win we needed to be focused and ready as always to give a 100%.
Only omissions from the squad for this match was Ben and Oscar, therefore in goal for the full game was Noah. Starting in defence was Thomas, Martin, Jack and Will. In midfield we had Charlie P, Harry, Euan and Blake on the pitch first. Leading the attack was Sam with Lucas just behind him.
After participating in the minute’s silence to commemorate Remembrance Day which was immaculately observed, the boys were ready to go. They made a blistering start when Blake scored a headed goal from a Charlie P corner. Heaton fought back and wouldn’t allow our midfield to settle on the ball and this pressure soon paid off when they equalised. The fightback was soon quashed when Blake one possession and played it to Harry who scored a superb goal into the far corner. We had to wait until the 24th minute for the next goal when harry scored his second goal with an assist from Euan. Lucas was soon in on the act when he followed up on a shot from Harry to slot home. The points now were looking a lot more secure than they did twenty minutes earlier. Within minutes Lucas had his second with a soaring header from a Charlie P cross. Finally, in the last moments of the half the excellent Charlie P got his deserved goal when Sam played an excellent ball in. What an amazing half it had been for Tynemouth.
With Charlie W and Daniel on to bolster attack and defence, the second half got underway with the boys continuing where they left off as Sam got his first goal with a Lucas assist. 8 minutes later Blake got his second when he was quickest to react to Man of the match Harry’s initial blocked shot. Moments later he completed his hattrick when he powered in a bullet header from a Charlie P cross. Sam scored his second when he athletically connected with Harry cross. Euan finally got in on the act when he blasted high into the top corner from another great ball in of Charlie P. The goals kept coming and this one was a cracking free kick delivered by Charlie P. Charlie W had come close to scoring a few times in the second half and finally got his reward when Harry found him in the box and was able to shoot passed the keeper. One last goal right at the end of the match but this one was from the Kestrels.
We had thought we'd be playing the other Heaton Team in our final game , but a cup competition has superseded these fixtures , where we face a tough opponent in Felton. An excellent return of 24 points from 9 matches means we finished Joint leaders. An excellent attitude and approach to games from the boys, they should all be proud of their achievments this season. Well done lads!!!
We now commence our Premier league fixtures, so we need to focus on our next challenges!!!
